<3 en avais besoin sur la question de la déconnexion c'est intéressant although paraît parfois un peu loin (la ccl si je la comprends c'est laisser libre cours à sa créativité et la travailler et la partager pour connecter avec les autres)

I bought this short Book convinced it was a poetry collection. It turned out to be a collection of essays-thoughts-meditations on the concept of connection. Poet, writer & musician Kar Tempest draw on their experiences of art & performance to question the notion of connection, what it means and how we can strive to achieve it in a world that feels like it’s more and more disconnected. Written during the 2020 lockdown but with a larger scope, Tempest quotes Jung and Blake, talks about numbness and wandering and the distinction between creativity and craft. I often felt myself nodding approvingly inside as the author describes raw personale experiences that take on a universal meaning although I'm not a poet and I've never given a spoken-word performance, or even attended one. Despite stating hard truths, this is a hopefully little book that posits connection as that thing that will have humanity.

I'm feeling extremely out of place, like a puzzle missing a few key pieces, or pieces that just about fit – but not quite. So this book was quite the salve for me. A bit meandering but sentimental and fundamentally well meaning. Definitely recommended reading, an easy read that makes you think.

This teeny book holds more insight that any massive book I’ve read. It’s simple, it’s informed by life experience and by art. It’s about human connection between humans and to ourselves. It’s a beautiful little book.

Uplifting and nourishing. Useful to anyone who feels disconnected from people or from the world around them. In some sense a self-help book. Also very much a book about creativity and the act of writing and performance. I would recommend it to any creative and to anyone who feels their identity does not “fit” the prescribed norms.
