Not a totally cohesive collection for me, but there were definitely some great, standout poems. "Exit Pursued by Bear," "Rimbaud's Letters," "Birthday," "The Sad Fate of the Sisterhood," "Perdurable," "Idle Chat," and "Frozen" were my favorites. The latter two were especially great. "Idle Chat" is a slice of life, but elevated in significance. "Frozen" deals with eating disorders better than any such poem I've ever seen, with a realistic yet tender touch. "She must love so much the notion of unchanging." Such a great line! That was one of the most moving and masterful poems I've read this year. I also quite liked the opening, longer poem. I don't read enough about disability, so it's good to broaden my horizons.

Cheers to my local B&N for stocking this collection by a San Antonio poet. Gonna try to make it out to her upcoming reading if work allows!
