Once again, I read a sequel before the original, but I don't think it matters in this case. There are some great themes in this story, like not being able to choose a favorite book, because there are too many good ones to select just one. Chloe indeed has a dilemma, which perhaps could have been solved with some honesty, but the end is satisfactory.

A simple and humorous story of Chloe who doesn't want to disappoint her two friends (a White boy named Leo and a Black girl named Emma--yay for having diverse friends!) who have very different ideas about what would be fun to dress up as for the Parade of Books.

This book is good for the issues of being true to yourself, problem-solving, and compromising.
