This book made me aware of how sharp words and careless actions can crash a soul. Hanna’s death crushed my heart, she wasn’t dramatic, she was just  screaming for help.

I did like the simple yet feesible writing of the author, but after coming from watching the show felt a bit dissapointed that the sequence of events from the book  was not followed in the show. Although I do understand why it was done that way because it made the descend of shaow and the story more appeasing to the visual audience. All in all a good fast paced book that bought me out of my reading slump.Would reccomend checking the trigger warnings first though. The topics that the book deals with is heavy and reader discreation is advised.

This book hit me hard. It honestly feels like a cry for help in and of itself. It urges readers to watch out for warning sides, to pay attention to their peers. But also, it encourages people to live life to the fullest, and be more focused on doing what you love instead of waiting and regretting it later. All in all, it’s a pretty amazing story. I read this book once before, in 7th grade. Now that I’m a senior and have gone through high school, I can say that this all makes a lot more sense than it did when I was 12. I think everyone should read this book at least once in their life.
