I read this book FAST. It was beautiful from start to finish. I want a film version but I know it would never be as good as the book.

Very enjoyable. Great use of some of my favorite tropes.

I want to start this by saying I’m learning that some writing types and authors just aren’t for me. This is one of those.
I think y’all know by now I’m not a fan of JG books. This type of cozy, mediocre romances just aren’t my thing. That being said.. this is my favorite Guillory that I’ve read but I refuse to read another. These mediocre romances that don’t have feelings, too many annoying sex scenes and an ending that’s just unrealistic really just annoy the hell out of me. The storyline was different so I’ll give it an extra ♥ for that. Not much else to say but I don’t recommend these types of romances ever sooo take that how you want

Started for the romance but here for the world of each character. I would love to see a tv show where all of this plays out. Mainly because this is how small LA, The Bay, and other major cities are. I have friends who have friends in other cities and at some point our lives have intersected.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but sometimes Jasmines books feel too uptight for me. Like no one really makes mistakes, everything is perfect, and they sort of speak like they are always in a corporate setting.

I still love the universe she created, and I love the men she writes in the books, it just always falls slightly short for me because everyone seems too together.

I liked this one! Some of Guillory's romances have worked better than others for me, and this was one of the more effective ones. The barriers to happiness were real but not so huge that the happy-ever-after you expect from romance seemed impossible. The characters were likeable. I've had trouble committing to books during #quarantimes and this was the first book I managed to read in one sitting in a long time.

I read an e-ARC through NetGalley/
