As a YA adventure story, there was nothing wrong with it. It was perfectly fine. But as for my personal preferences- it felt a little lonely reading it for one, (no reviews anywhere), repetitive (on the boat the entire time), and I didn’t connect with the characters much. I do know there’s people who’d love this book, though, and that’s enough in of itself.

This book is a quick, but exciting read. I would put it in the "youth struggles for maturity" group. It is a survival story with current day pirates.

The narrative seemed too mature for a 14-year-old character, but it was still a decent story.
