Of the various tie-in comics in the Adventure Time expanded universe, I think the most effective are the spin-off miniseries, often focusing on fan favorite characters who have a relatively limited time in the show itself, and tying them more directly to the events of the show as it began wrapping up its bittersweet run in 2018.
Season 11, written by Sonny Liew and illustrated by Marina Julia, for instance, continues the series' strong replication of the TV show's voice and style while also bringing some unique ideas as well. This miniseries does a great job tying up some of the last hanging plot threads from the show’s last season in an affirming and satisfying way, and really concluded the Adventure Time comics line on a positive, fulfilling note.

I forgot how much I missed Adventure Time after it ended, and this comic is a perfect continuation of events, post-finale. You really see a more grown-up and mature Finn...AND CANON BUBBLINE AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It's been so long since I've watched Adventure Time closely. I'm multiple seasons behind though I did watch the finale. More importantly, this is set after the finale with enough context clues to catch you up if you didn't watch it.
I really enjoyed the story where Finn contemplates about the meaning of home and where he belongs. His slang kept taking me out a bit, but I remember when Finn used to say "mathematical" or "algebraic," so I'm not familiar with his newer lingo. I also like Marceline's development. She's gotten way more mature than when she first started out.
