Having enjoyed Coelho’s other works for many years (reading & re-reading). I didn’t enjoy this as much. I felt it was over hyped & self-indulgent. A lot of people love it, me… not so much. It’s unusual for me not to finish a book, but this one didn’t engage me enough to put in the effort.

I don’t know why this book has such a bad rating... For me it was a good book. Because it didn’t just state the obvious - the adultery, just like the title implies - but it also had some lessons to be learned.
It is so clear that the author has fear of God or in other words, he believes in God, because there are a lot of parts in the book that make reference to the Bible. These parts are the most important, from my point of view. These made me think about the moral of the story and the way the author tought about this story. I still have mixed feelings regarding the main character, but I liked the ending. How something done out of the blue can change the way you’re thinking... and how important it is to see things from a different perspective.

This book wasn't what I thought it would be after the first few chapters. I almost quit reading it in the middle because she goes completely crazy. But the final chapters ... loved them!!! I think that the thoughts about love, and the way her husband loves her, will stick with me for a long time.

I loved Sir Paulo Coelho after 'Alchemist' and 'Winner stands Alone', but after 'Eleven Minutes' and 'Adultery', I just like him as a friend.
