Bit of a slow burn but lovely writing style, makes it very easy to pick it up and become immersed. Enjoyed having the POV of multiple characters and expect the world building will set the landscape for the sequel in the series.

Very flatly written. Without names very few of the characters would be discernible from the others. Descriptions are very sparse so while the world building has substance, there’s very little presence to make it vivid. Also, if I have to hear the phrase “thought cage” ever again I’m going to vomit. Plot was okay, writing did it a disservice. Narrator did a fantastic job though.

I don’t really know how to feel about this, but I think I liked it? Lol.

There were some pacing and editing issues that bugged me, but I loved the world building and characters!! I saw part of the ending coming, but it still caught me off guard. Looking forward to the next book!
