All throughout the book my Spider sense is telling me that this is all a hoax. I'm too lazy to research this but that's how I felt.
As far as reading this as fiction... it wasn't at all scary but pretty pleasant time passer I guess.

I listened to the audiobook in one sitting. Stuck inside due to the pandemic and already going a little stir crazy, this book was the exact wrong thing for me to read. I finished it just past midnight, lights off, already tucked away in bed. I knew the story well, I'd seen the movies, I'd listened to the podcasts, but none of it compares to the absolute terror this book has left me with. Fuckin hell.

It says non fiction but it reads like a fiction book trying to be a non fiction book. I don’t believe in this story of events (not that I’m saying the people affected are necessarily liars). I did laugh during the epilogue when the author was writing that rearranging furniture can stop any hauntings as if paranormal creatures are just like “oh no! They moved the couch to the other side of the room! I can’t haunt here anymore!”

Someone described this as, “if Benadryl tried to write a horror novel” and after giving it an honest shot I agree 🥲🤣
