I enjoyed this book but I had to force myself to finish. After the first few chapters, you start to notice a rhythm. It's set up like a TV series - there's a theme to each month, humorous stories ensue, experts are consulted, and lessons are learned. I found myself skimming for interesting nuggets, just to get to the end of each section. I just don't think my head was in the right place for non-fiction this month.
That said, the entire book is fascinating! Denmark can take my money – I want everything they're doing. The work-life balance, the financial safety net, the healthcare... and the freedom that all of that security provides!
Interesting food for thought as we head into an election season where we're hearing about the evils/dangers of socialism. Wrapped in pastries and subsidized public arts programs, it doesn't sound half bad.

It's a good book, but I lost interest when I moved out of Denmark.
Loved the sense of humor

Very very entertaining! The author is a hilarious story teller and I laughed out loud multiple times per chapter at her accounting of her test in Denmark. While there are many parts of Danish culture I’m not at all interested in, and many that are quite gross, I enjoyed her journey of discovering ALL Denmark has on offer. 3.75 stars
