This book a a very dark, twisted and gory novella about revenge and love. We are following Harper Leigh who is invited with her friends to a haunted house. But there are some unexpected surprises when she gets there. Some ghosts from her past have called themselves judge and executioner of her past crimes. Harper’s only goal is to survive long enough to figure out why she was invited to this haunted house. This book is a very graphic Saw inspired revenge story. Please read your trigger warnings and be forewarned before reading. The characters are absolutely unhinged and feel no remorse for their actions. Saying that….I absolutely loved this story and really want to see where these characters can go. The interactions between Harper and Erebus are pure gold and spice!! Definitely have some contenders for psychotic book boyfriends in this book. Some tropes in this book include: betrayal/revenge plot, Saw inspired games, hidden truths, past secrets, kidnapped impossible love, opposites attract, emotional scars, dangerous attraction, virgin FMC, polyamorous relationship, MFMMM, and miscommunication trope.

See I already didn't like swamps..... (a very squid games vibe of a book with masked men)

Harper Leigh, her boyfriend and their friends are invited to "a special House of Horrors grand opening" at a famed haunted house that tells them to "Be ready for the scare of your life." Harper does not want to go but she is forced to. When they arrive the door lock behind them and no one seems to care but Harper. They are thrust into these life or death games while being teased about why they are there forced to play to the death.

This is a very fast paced story and it something that the warnings need to be headed. This was such a well written story. All of the characters are so amazing. The way the switch ups happen and people reveal their shady secrets, are crafted in a way that catches you off guard, especially when combined with how fast the story is. So much happens and it is obvious that the story was carefully planned. My only critique is that since it is a novella, I felt that one of the characters feel into the back because his personality was that of a more reserved, but sensual person. I want to see more of the one she affectionately calls Jack. (His name is not coming to me off the top of my head. Erebus is so very funny. I love the funny ones. The last masked man (whose name is a bit of a spoiler) I love the men in denial. I can't pick one. Harper honestly, we loving rooting for her.

⚠️Check TWs BEFORE reading!⚠️

UHM... Holy shit. Wow. I am at a utter loss of words. Some books stay with you because they're sad. Some stay with you because they're cute...This will stay with you because it is the very definition of macabre. Wicked Games is told in multi-POV between Erebus, Harper Leigh, and Minos. It was wild, unhinged, and dark. This is very much like a dark romance Saw, and I am here for it!!! I need more from P.H. Nix and Celeste Knight!

Thank you so much for the ARC, P.H. Nix & Celeste Knight. This was awesome! All opinions are my own.

This was an incredible erotic horror story complete with a Louisanna backdrop, masked men, Saw/Squid Games like game play, and an FMC with a will for survival. If you are a reader with triggers, check them multiple times before diving in, and then BRACE YO SELF. The gore had my eyeballs twitching, while simultaneously laughing uncomfortably. My one gripe is I now have to patiently wait for the next book. Five starts truly isn’t enough.
