Great book. I particularly like the captions that go along with the photos.

In my opinion, they published this book too soon. Compared to the current photos on their website, many of the photos included in the book are tame and unspectacular.

If you have seen the website, then you know exactly what you are getting with this book. If not, it is a collection of those awkward, at times funny, at times painful photos that almost any family has hidden in an album someplace. By the way, that family in a barrel photo of Niagara Falls, I actually remember being in one myself with my siblings a very long time ago. I wonder if my father or my siblings still have that album.

The photos do vary in quality. Some are indeed laugh out funny. Some are just a bit odd, but nothing to really write home about. So I think a bit better editing and selection could have gone into the material that went into the book. Then again, the site can be hit and miss, though most of the time you do find something to smile about. If anything, the book is a quick read, and it is amusing overall. So, it is a nice thing to look over, maybe have a giggle, and recall suddenly that you too might have an awkward family picture or two someplace.

The combination of really bizarre photos and really funny writing make this book awesome! Even if you've read the blog, it's fun to revisit some classic awkward photos, and there's a bunch of new stuff, too. There were a couple of times when I was almost in tears because I was laughing so hard. Definitely recommended!!

I had difficulty not laughing out loud at Borders while flipping through this book. Then I bought it and took it to a kid's birthday party and sat in the corner of the yard and laughed constantly and loudly while kids zipped down an inflatable slide. Some of the pictures herein are just hilarious. From the girl dreaming of a Cabbage Patch doll to the kid leaning on his brother's crotch to the one of the boy falling into the vortex of Stonehenge. I could not stop laughing.

Awkward Family Photos is a collection of photos that were better left not taken. Some of them are silly, some are outdated, some are unique, and others are just awkward. Whether they are photos of family, friends, cousins, grandparents, or vacation memories, this book displays the best of the worst. From a denim matching family, to expressive punk teenagers, and hair-pulling-out siblings, Awkward Family Photos is a treasury of bad photographic decisions.

My 5-star rating may be slightly biased due to [my family's inclusion in the book:][1:]. That said, it's a wonderful collection of those wonderful, funny photos that every family has.

Feels dated and timeless at the same time. Brought me numerous smiles and a handful of belly laughs! The different sections make for a great coffee table or bathroom book.
