This book caught me by suprise - from the get-go.
There were a few perfectly placed moments of humor in the first part of the book which helped set a positive mood to balance out the bits of count-of-monte-cristo-esque injustice later on.
I think that is probably my favorite thing about the book - as boring as it sounds - the balance. For the record it was not at all a boring book!
The good guys were good. The bad guys were bad. The funny parts were funny, the sad parts were sad, the adventurous parts were adventurous, the technical parts were quite technical.
The story was good.

I loved this book very much. It was very different from what I was reading at the time. It’s fast paced but slow enough as to not get whiplash from a fast moving plot. All characters were amazing, and I even had to respect the villain for how genuinely intelligent he was.

This book had a pretty slow start. I was getting disappointed in Colfer, but then it just opened up and it was great!

It has the Colfer wit, it has a young boy fighting against the bad adult.

I almost think it was too short, or too skinny in some parts. There were times I wanted to know more.

This is the story of Conor who wants nothing more than to fly. When he witnesses the assasination of his king, the assisin sets up an evil plan in which Conor lives, but his fis family thinks he is dead. He is sent off to a prison when he become a completely different person in order to survive. In the end, he must learn to fly and face the assasin in order to save those closest to him.

I really enjoyed this. Glad I got around to reading it.

I really liked it. A little slow at first, but it really picked up. It took me on an adventure with Connor. I was hooked till the end and loved it. One of the best books, in my opinion, from Eoin Colfer.

Swashbuckling fun, feverish airship designing, a prison break, and a son come back from the dead! I really enjoyed the book and I think that it's a good book at a lower reading level for anyone who would enjoy things like Shawshank Redemption or The Count of Monte Christo.

2.5 stars, it was extremely boring at the beginning and then towards the middle-end it was ok. It also took me forever to read, but it had a satisfying ending.
