This is one of the best second books in a series I have read to date. I was skeptical about picking up this novel because truth be told I enjoyed the first book but I didn't love it. No second book slump for this series! This book totally opened my eyes to this world...and the writing was beautiful. I really enjoyed this book; I read it super quickly and now I'm hooked and need to know what is going to happen !! I would highly recommend this series for "adult" readers (just because there is some language and brutality). I was hoping for more history of the Fetch, but I"m hoping that will be in the next installment !

This series deals with every social issue I can think of from race to body image, selfharm, abuse, gay rights, corruption, entitlement, poverty and so much more. And it does it FLAWLESSLY. definitely one of my favorite books/series ever. Kept me wanting more the whole way through, with many chapters leaving my heart racing. The suspense and mystery are perfectly weaved between everyday issues, with secrets being withheld or revealed in just the right amount. 10/10 would recommend (start with the first one) :)

I don't mind the main character having magic, but stopping an invading army overnight? This book was dystopian enough that I wanted to see her having to do some political scheming and be more similar to the Diabolic trilogy-instead she just gets carried by her gems and the Fetch.

Honestly, did not finish. Stopped caring halfway though and maybe I've just read so many similar books lately, but this is just not for me.

Series went downhill quick. I feel like the characters were less lovable and relatable this book. Struggled to hold my attention.
