I enjoyed this one a heck of a lot more now that I am older than I did when younger. It is actually quite brilliant (if it suffers the typical Alan Moore bullshit ideology problems that all his books have)

This was another book I read in one or two days. Very interesting story.

This was rough. As many reviewers have mentioned, there’s an incredible amount of Masonic philosophy presented with an healthy dose of misogyny. Ironically, despite that, it’s not even that interesting. The characters are also hard to tell apart for way too long.

This is undoubtedly an astonishing achievement, yet one that I have to admit struggling with at times. The art is minimal yet very effective and this is particularly highlighted when the story turns grizzly. Some of the murders are shown in a brutally visceral manner which will be off-putting to some. The writing and storytelling are equally as impressive, however Moore has a tendency to disappear off into philosophy and pseudo-science and I found these sections difficult to get through. I did appreciate the annex where Moore makes it clear that he doesn't believe the identity of the Ripper he has put forward; this was such an interesting read but don't read it until the end as it clearly contains spoilers.
This may well require multiple readings to really get the most from the work, but honestly, I'm going to need a break before I will be able to face it again.
