Kind of a childish story. I get it, it’s a Little Mermaid retelling, but I was hoping for it to be darker. I guess it kinda was, with the whole stealing men’s hearts thing, but it still just seemed childish to me. I struggled to read this. Something about Ari just annoyed me endlessly. She was immature and whiny and it made this book hard to read. However, I did like the unexpected way the things ended, even if the climax itself was a bit boring.

this book started and ended in two completely different places, i questioned ari’s sanity in multiple occasions, and the whole “brother/sister” thing kinda confused me a lot...
but it was a fun retelling and i rly wanna know more about jonas bc i feel like his character has a lot more to be explored
