When astronomy buff and academic-minded Devon, a scholarship student, meets privileged and kind-hearted Ashton, her world gets flipped upside down. Their relationship quickly becomes intense and all-encompassing. Will they find a way to work through their challenges of classism, race, and mental illness?

Wow this author did a great job writing about depression. You can tell she has personal experience with it. I like how it was the full focus and not just skirted around. Even though this was a tough one to read at times it was still a very good story. I think I would have liked a little more closure, however I still understand what she was doing with the story.

i was completely blindsided by the fact that this book included depression, and one of the characters trying to commit suicide. i seriously had no idea this would be part of the book, it’s marketed as a second chance romance and doesn’t mention or warn the readers about suicide, or depression. it was such a huge trigger for me.

I absolutely loved this book. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. I love books that tell real stories about people. Real life isn't all sunshine, roses & happy endings.

audio book,

reminding myself it was written for HS so three stars, but i *hated* the voices the narrator used. Her normal voice was fine, but she made every girl that wasn't the main character have a valley girl voice, and every guy have a surfer bro voice. I hated it.
