I don't know who thought that Aang and Katara calling each other 'Sweetie' was a good idea.

These comics continue a great series and I LOVE the mix of adult and child humor. So many logical choices were made in this continuation.

First, the issue of what to do about the Fire Nation Colonies is so rooted in real history. The short running colonies are very easy to disassemble, but the long running colonies raise true ethical questions. What do you do when a new blended culture has essentially formed? Do you attempt segregation in the name of equality and justice or do you find a new method of integration despite conflicting governmental rule? Fascinating.

Second, the deepening of Aang and Katara's relationship is too freaking cute.

Third, Toph running her own metal bending school was a great choice. She has always been a strong character and you had to wonder what the next step was and I didn't want the metal bending shelved as ending with her.

This 3 part set was great fun and their stories made me feel like I was enjoying the series once more.

the outrageous amount of "sweetie"s exchanged between aang and katara made me want to set myself and the copy of this comic I borrowed from the library on fire.

(saving my spoiler-free final thoughts / full review for part 3)
