Okay but...how will there be a happy ending in Chaos. Scarlett said she only writes happy endings and I am going to trust her process....but EVERYTHING is stacked against H&P... I can't think of one thing that is in their favor.

But the book was good.

Although when I reread this, I will be skipping EVERY Theseus POV. There are only 3 but that is 3 too many. That man is disgusting and a proud rapist. I literally felt sexually threatened just reading his POV.

Also, Helen...Wtf are you doing?

This was not a super great read. I really enjoy this series (let’s be honest, I enjoy the smut) but this was just a “his view” of the last “A Touch” book. The sections with Dionysus was tolerable since there’s a spin-off series, but the antagonist point of view was just awful. There was no depth to why he was depraved so it felt like we were in a rapist’s head just for shock value and it was really icky to read about how he was going to use or break certain women. The book really could’ve done without it.

I thought this would take me forever to read but I FLEW through it. I loved the inclusion of Dionysus and Ariadne’s story and I hope to see more of them in the next book and with their own stand alone. I’m very nervous for the next book. I knew what would happen in this one since the one before was Persephone’s POV and this one was the same story but Hades’s POV, but it contained so much more new info. The two of them are sooooo horny all the time but good for them. I love how the author subtly and effortlessly incorporates references to other Greek myth stories and characters. Now time for A Touch of Chaos which comes out TOMORROW!!!!

Hades and Persephone are boring now. The enemies are now established lovers. They’re insecure and bad at communicating blah blah blah. The plot has gotten so complex that I’m not even interested in the sex scenes anymore like come on guys people are dying.

And some of the sex scenes that I did read through were not very well written. Like I would be reading a long and another detail would be added that didn’t make sense logistically with how I pictured it so I would have to go back and redo it. It’s actually preferred for smut to be detailed and thorough ya know

The Dionysus and Ariadne part was the best part of the story and they barely got any screen time. And honestly the plot surrounding them felt dangerously close to creating monstrous plot holes and continuity errors just for the sake of writing in more interesting sex scenes.

Absolutely huge disgusting NO to the fact that she added chapters from Theseus’ point of view. Who told her that was a good idea? I really do not want or need to read a rapists inner monologue about wanting to rape and abuse people. It didn’t add any information to the plot that we didn’t already know. It was just pages and pages of triggers. I found it absolutely disgusting that she would add it to her book let alone sit and write it.

And if all that isn’t bad enough there was a staggering amount of errors. At least a dozen glaringly obvious typos including a few that were so bad I couldn’t decipher what the intended sentence even was. Not to mention character names being misspelled. Is this not what editors are for? Come on.

Overall I’m so disappointed. I like this series as a silly little guilty pleasure read that I know isn’t “great” but entertaining nonetheless. Now I’m really just forcing myself to keep going because I made it this far.

GoGs is politic heavy compared to previous editions.
The banter between the other gods and Hades continues to be top tier. Hecate is an OG.

Still smutty af- honestly I’m like meh SStC does incredible spice but I thought this in ToD books (Persephone POV) also, just have a conversation!

It was so long since a read ToM that I completely forgot how that ended but GoGs finishes earlier just makes complete sense.

Finishing off this series with a Touch of Chaos

Wooooooow I always love finding out what Hades has been up to! I also loved the view point from the villain! I’m dying for the next book to come out with that cliffhanger though! Spice
