The writing layout was different to all the books I have read, the story told and narrated from all the characters; this also made it a easy flowing read.

It touched on topics like substance abuse, love and conflict..and I could relate to somethings.

THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING! When realizing the type of genre this book was (oral-history format) I was slightly nervous as I have never read a book like it before. I was surprised how quickly it felt like I was watching a band documentary on MTV. I feel in love with the format and the story so quickly and could not believe how frequently I didn’t want to do anything else besides read this book. The characters and their story are astonishing and written so well for a minute I thought this actually was a really band. When you realize who the “author” of the book is
Julia, Billy and Camilas daughter
your jaw drops as I expected it to be some random person. Again this book was fantastic and I think MY TOP BOOK I READ THIS YEAR! I am looking forward to see these characters and their story come to life by watching the Amazon Prime show, I hope and pray it lives up to this book. AGAIN, THIS HAD DEFINITELY BECOME MY FAVORITE BOOK!!

Daisy Jones and The Six is a great example why the 1980’s-1990’s was the best time and worse time for Bands. It takes you into a world of friendships, Brotherhood, situationships, and relationships. And made the book about love, family and addiction. Perfection at its finest.

I read a few reviews before diving in to this book. They were mixed. It seems people either LOVE the book or HATE the book. And the consensus falls around either loving the way it is written or loathing it.
I am pretty neutral. The format being like a transcript for a documentary threw me at first. I wasn't sure I would be able to dive in the way I had with Evelyn Hugo and the Seven Husbands. But once I started reading the format does come together. You have to keep going. It becomes intriguing to hear every characters version of events and it definitely helps yoh see the whole story and feel each characters personality. It, however, is NOT the right format if you need a book that'll last you a little while. This is fully a weekend read. One and done. If you are planning on putting it down multiple times and expecting to be pulled back into the story easily this is not the book for you.
I quickly realized that I needed to read it in a day or I would never finish it. The style doesn't even have chapters, and I found it too easy to fall out of the writing, if that makes sense. But once I got going I read it in a day and was able to enjoy the story for what it was.

Daisy Jones and the Six is a compelling story about a rock band going through ups and downs in the 70's. I like that it wasn't predictable. The huge twist I thought was coming never came. But that also makes it a light read. I didn't hate this book, I also didn't love it. I enjoyed it.
