I love how this book captures the "he said, she said" scenarios, where we as the reader have to ultimately decide how things played out. It has been so fun discussing with my book club members our thoughts and feelings about all of these characters, the scenarios they put themselves in, and guessing what would happen in the next time period. I think Reid did a great job of placing us back in the '60s and '70s, I truly got an idea about how things were back then.
The characters were so fleshed out, their personalities totally shined through the writing. I appreciate how every character could be loved/loveable but have their own faults at the same time. I found myself getting frustrated with a character but then understanding where they were coming from so it made it hard to have a true feeling about them. I still think my favorites are Karen, Graham, and Warren. Karen is the most genuine and stays the truest to herself. Graham is loyal but to a blinding point where I don't think he gets the big picture. Warren just wants to rock out man, give my guy a joint, and let's call it a day. lmaoo I honestly am not too sure about how I feel about Daisy and Billy, our two MC's. I couldn't tell if I liked them or not for the majority of the book. I will say, I am glad that Daisy listened and Billy made his final decision. Camilla is a saint and a better person than me cause things would have gone down way differently.
The reveal at the end was definitely shocking, I literally gasped out loud. The final section also made me a little teary-eyed due to a specific character. I will say, I did remove a star because I was expecting a lot more drama towards the end. Overall, it was a solid book and I am excited to start the show!
Moderate: Drug use, Alcoholism, and Drug abuse

I was expecting a bit of a different twist, or a bit more of an explosive ending, but I think that was more because this is not the style of book I usually read. This is 100% character driven and it’s extremely well done, so I’m not unhappy in the slightest with how it was done or ended.
I had such a great time, I finished the latter half within a day.
