3.5 stars. I liked the beginning and the ending. And there were a couple times I thought it would be a 5-star read. But a couple of things happened, and I cannot get passed the way the were handled, and how they were also supported by the adults. The MC does her best friend and her dad wrong, and there wasn’t enough fallout for that. This was just okay for me.

It's rare for me to read contemporary YA romance but this one is a loosely based You've Got Mail retelling so I couldn't resist.

This is all sorts of cute, fun and nerdy with a diverse set of characters, yet there's quite a bit of tragedy and psychological trauma involved too; so not all hearts and roses.

Mink/Bailey Rydell swaps Mum for Dad, east coast for west coast, not only to make a fresh start but also with the intention of covertly discovering the real life identity of her online soulmate, classic movie nerd Alex/????? who lives in the same coastal town as her Dad. Of course, she fails to find him. Sure, it's obvious from all the clues very early on who Alex really is but that didn't stop my enjoyment reading this.

I powered through this looking forward to the moment the penny finally dropped. Loved it... I'll be recommending and reading more from Jenn Bennett.

You've Got Mail is one of my favorite movies, and this was a suitable, contemporary, young-adult version.

It was okay. It was pitched to me as having You've Got Mail vibes but that was only at the very end, plus the synopsis basically spoils the ending so the shock factor is non-existent when the big "twist" is discovered.

Maybe 3.5– I enjoyed this book but I feel like it took FOREVER for them to figure it out. I was also upset because Bailey had so many opportunities to come clean and she never did which is why it took so damn long. Porter figured it out before her but they don’t actually talk about it until there’s only 30 pages left in the book. So that kinda disappointed me. But the first half of the story was good then it just got painfully dragged out in my opinion.
