Wow! This is definitely going on my best books of 2021 list because it didn’t disappoint, it exceeded all expectations. All of the characters had depth and personality. The heroine is a fierce woman that isn’t looking for approval from everyone. The plot definitely didn’t disappoint either. I love the mafia trope but it’s so easy to read the same plot over and over. This was definitely different from anything I’ve ever read in the mafia trope. I’m honestly in awe of how well this was done. Bravo to the author

This really needed an editor.
Honestly every single page had incorrect grammar, major spelling mistakes and just awkward sentences weirdly worded. Don't even get me started on how many times the swearing was overboard -_- and the "smirks" on almost every character's face I had to read about.

No one. Not one single character was likeable in this story.

I had every intention of writing four separate reviews for this series, but I devoured these books in less than a week. And in my mind/memory, it's all become one wonderful, never ending story. So instead, here's one review, and each one will include my favorite quotes from that book.
For starters, I loved the quotes on every chapter. I even noted a few to write in my journal. The story is so ridiculous, and it's so perfect! Liam and Melody are the mafia dream team! (That's such a bizarre thing to say.) Their first fight (and I mean that in the true physical sense) really sets the mood. And their fight on the yacht sets a whole different mood! They remain stubborn and hardheaded through it all. And there is a lot going on in that 'all'. They didn't lose their hardness and become soft just because love got involved. They were cute in other ways, like torturing people together. And you don't have to worry about picking sides between them, you'll be too busy picking favorites within the Callahan clan. But be careful, they'll break your heart. So don't get too attached! Follow Bloody Melody's lead, and trust no one. If you're looking for a mafia romance series with never ending drama, plot twists, vengeance, love, family, trouble, and steam- look no farther! Also, if you're looking for happy endings at the end of every book.....these are not tied with shiny bows.

My Favorite Quotes:
•"I believe you’re mistaken, love. After all, I just signed a very powerful document making all of this mine."
•"Be a good fiancée and tell your pets to leave, or I will put them down, sweetheart."
•"All this is over. You sit at my side and you stay beautiful, like a lady." "Is that all, master?"
•"Do not take a bullet for me again."
•"You are not a housewife, you do not want to be my arm candy. You are a cold-blooded murderer."

9/10 Bully Romance
10/10 Enemies to Lovers
9/10 Mafia Romance
10/10 Series

Two stars for the badass characters, sex, and wit. Meh.

Let's face it, it was not so realistic at all. (Unless the author claims creative license then I should just go fuck myself.)

So I'll just breakdown shit that I didn't like here.
Spoiler

1. The Italian. I may not speak Italian but I feel it when things get awkward. (It's kinda like a feeling you acquire when you're encountering the same language again and again but you don't speak or understand it.) Then it turns out that the author used Google Translate. Yay.

2. Since they're already speaking Italian, what the fuck happened to their ranks? Why the fuck is she called The Boss? They don't call their boss The Boss. Who the fuck are her underbosses? What the fuck?

3. I don't know a lot about Italian and Irish mafia and stuff (since I'm into Yakuza and I only know stuff about the Yakuza culture) but for me, they didn't sound mafia to me at all. Just because they were violent Irish or Italian that kill or punish people who don't listen to them doesn't automatically make them mafia right away. How I can tell this, I don't know. I can't pinpoint what distinguishes them for me but wiseguys have this certain air that don't make you want to fuck with them. That they don't have to show it in many (violent) ways. It's just there. Like honor, danger, family, respect, power rolled into one. This guys sounded more like a gang to me. Saree.

4. Everyone was just so trigger-happy in this book. Like really, it was just so ridiculous.

5. They were so fucking cocky in killing. Like what the fuck was that killing 20+ people and nobody could do anything about it? When wiseguys kill, they do it silently. Under the radar. They don't provoke authorities. (Or so this was common knowledge unless the world shifted and the Philippines somehow ended up in Europe.) And remember when Mel said that even if they bring FBI in the field it would be useless because they know people in FBI????? Reaaaaaaaally?????????
