The story itself was great but the writing was not amazing - lots of weird syntax and grammar errors that did not come across as a stylistic choice, but rather as poor editing. I made it through the book because the story was good enough for me to stick it out, but it wasn't an enjoyable experience for me sadly.

This book is in desperate, desperate need of editing. But there's so much potential in the metaphors and the structure of the two parallel timelines. It's worth a fierce listen.
