Here’s my review: short and stunning, and I am gobsmacked. I found Michael Anderson fascinating, as I always find this author’s male characters. They are a mixture of enticing and a-hole, they seem like they don’t care but inside they do, they also seem like they don’t need the women they fall for, but inside, they do. Very intriguing.

Meredith lost her mother two years ago and seems to have lost her way. She’s been drifting between one-night stands, using Tinder a lot, but she’s aimless and needy. I felt that what she has is this deep need to have someone in her life, to love her and anchor her. I felt her loneliness, especially since her bestie Gillian has a full life with a husband, baby and lots of travel. When she met Michael and he gave her the best sex of a lifetime, she latched on to him and therefore made her bed.

I loved Michael’s dichotomy. He’s bad, through and through. He’s a criminal and with his brother they have a mail to order criminal services. He also is the owner of Fahrenheit 900, the IN nightclub in New York City. For Michael, Meredith was a mark, but she turned out irresistible. When she continues to look him up, he couldn’t resist her and therefore their future was set.

I felt for poor Meredith and how she felt alone in the world. I could perfectly understand why she pursued Michael, since he was as gorgeous as he was charming. There was so much magnetism in him, beauty in her (inside and out), her brokenness called to his, and their chemistry was off the charts. I can’t imagine what’s coming next, but I need the next book like yesterday!

I finished this in one setting, it's quick enjoyable and leaves you on the edge of your seat
I'm so happy i waited till the whole trilogy was published to start reading because i wouldn't have survived the cliffhanger at the end

This story is definitely different. I am still a little confused on the details, but I enjoyed reading this and I was left wanting more. I so look forward to finding out what will happen next and to hopefully have some of my questions answered.

King of Lies was an intense read that flipped back and forth between the past and the presence.
Meredith has a past as well as a secret life. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth but has decided to work her dream job at Vogue rather than live off her family money. She is desperate for love and a real connection but can she find that on Tinder?
In comes Michael, who seems too perfect to be true and he sweeps her off her feet.
This story was interesting and intriguing.

When you know, you know.

Clearly, I like twisting turned around suspense novels. I also love "filthy heroes" who are extremely talented in the bedroom. Both are present in this book. I think the most intriguing part of this book wasn't figuring out the culprit before he was announced, nope. For me the hotest and equally distinctive moment that sealed this book was in the very beginning...

Our "hero", himself, told us he is nobody's hero. He gives a "speech" to the reader than equally liquefies panties and makes your heart speed up.

Just wait until The Queen is released!!!!!

I really liked this story. I think it’s fair to say this is very different from other books written by this author. If you like her previous work and don’t feel like trying something different this is not your cup of tea, sorry but it’s the truth.

If, I’m the other hand you feel like reading something different give it a try. I say go with an open mind, this is a dual POV story, in the prologue we get to meet Michael who is telling you about being an anti hero and sound extremely cocky for my taste but as the story developed you start to get to know him and I like what I saw.

To me, Meredith is not a bad character I can’t say I relate to her but I definitely understand where her actions are coming from.

The story is super short so you don’t get to see much about them, separate or together as they grow as a couple. The time line is a bit twisted so you get glimpses from before and after some big events. Due to the length and timeline I feel like we are getting sneak peeks so don’t expect the whole story because you’re not going to get it yet!

I definitely want to read the next one and see how things are building up and got to the “after”.
