5★: A TIMELESS CLASSIC FOR ALL AGES! Published nearly 53 years ago, I personally think this is one of Dr. Seuss’ best works (possibly tied with [b:Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book|7772|Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book|Dr. Seuss|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1344371380l/7772._SX50_.jpg|2069969].) AND it has one of the best quotes ever:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”Perfectly sized at 72 pages, this book currently has a 4.34-star average by 334,444 reviewers.

I don't remember the first time I've ready this book, but I assume some adult read it to me when I was a little because I can't remember a time when I didn't have the messages and the pictures in my head.
2020 - I let kiddos pick which Seuss book we read this year and The Lorax was picked several times in the 18 class periods I read to over the week. Kids love it, and they are affected by it more than any other Dr. Seuss book I read. They walk away talking about it and they ask to check it out. I call that a success...and a classic.

I am a sponsor of the Environment/Garden club at my school and I think this book is great for introducing kids to environmental issues. Dr. Seuss was way ahead of his time!

This was so good if you compare it to the cat in the hat and green eggs and ham.The story was good and kinda sad and the story teller is just like humans, destroying the nature
