Christina Dodd wraps up her Bella Terra series with a winner!

How can anyone not fall in love with this family from the very first book? It takes place in Bella Terra with Sarah Di Luca and her three grandsons Rafe (Brooke), Eli (Chloe), and Noah (Penelope). This book tells the story of Noah, with him being the youngest grandson and brother and the only grandson that is still unmarried. Penelope, Noah’s past love that he pushed away when the mess started with his mother, has returned to Bella Terra after the death of her mother, because she is trying to find out exactly who her father is. She plans to stay away from Noah but ends up befriending his sister in law, Brooke and working as the interior designer on Brooke and Rafe’s Victorian. She runs into Noah the very first time that she meets Brooke at the house and the sizzle is still there from their past.

I loved the first two books in this series and I expected no less from this book, but I think this book was definitely the best and WOW it was great! Noah has some big secrets from his past that are about to unravel, and he expects that his life will end as well. Penelope has secrets of her own concerning who her father possibly is. She also carries along with her the grief from the loss of her husband, the loss of her baby girl, and the death of her mother.

She knew from the beginning that Noah is carrying a heavy burden and suffering some kind of anguish, but she isn't sure that she is can deal with her emotions for him. It takes Noah finding out that Penelope is pregnant and his will to live before he realizes that he has to tell everyone what is going on. They all pull together to try to solve the issue at hand – the collar – and trying to disengage it, that everything comes to a conclusion. I thought that the book ended happily with all of the family together and safe.

Not as good as other books that I've read by Christina Dodd. I have to say I found the main story a little far-fetched and unbelievable. Sometimes the romance makes up for this, not this time for me. They were too brief and too infrequent. By the end I didn't get the feeling of ever-lasting love from either Penelope or Noah, which made the slightly unbelievable plot even worse.

Really, 2.5 stars. Rounded up to 3 because of the frequent safe sex.
Penelope Alonso is back in Bella Terra, the site of her greatest heartbreak. When she was eighteen, she fell in love with Noah Di Luca but then he unceremoniously dumped her. She has to come back to face a different part of her past, but she's hoping to avoid Noah. That doesn't work.
For his part, Noah has never forgotten Penelope. He knows she was the love of his life but portions of his past prevented him from staying with her.
I'm really hoping that the ending is setting up a new book with Bao and Primo. I can't wait to read it.
Wow. This is not my favorite book of the series. I never really warmed to Noah or Penelope. He seemed like a jerk (yes, I know he had reasons) but the denouement was way too fast.
SpoilerAnd did Penelope really need to be pregnant? I mean, the hints were there from the beginning (how many times did Dodd point out that condoms fail? But that always makes me question the hero's love. Now he's ready to live. Sure.

As a conclusion to a trilogy, I found this book fairly weak. I had a hard time getting into it, and I kept waiting for the suspense. But it wasn't very - instead I found it pretty predictable.

Great series, very sad to see the story of the Di Luca's end..

I was equally sad when I thought the Provov's had shot Nonna.. Glad that Dodd spun that in there though, and that she ended up living. Wasn't it a great ending when Joseph ended up having the diamonds all along!

This is the last book in the series and is Noah's story. In the fist two books we knew that Noah was hiding something from his family, we just didn't know what. Now the story must come out. Such a pleasure to read this well written suspense romance.
