This is my first time reading the Harry Potter books. I’ve watched the movies many times and i think just like with the movies this will be my least favorite book and it will only get better. That’s not to say this was a bad book because it absolutely wasn’t!! It was great but i definitely think i’ll like the other books better. I did really like getting to see more of Harry at the Dursleys and like more of his life outside of Hogwards. I’m very excited to continue with book two!

The Wizarding World is fascinating, draws you in and keeps you turning pages. Characters are likable and villains are well-written. Picked up on some connections to future books since it’s my first time reading as an adult, definitely a great one to reread later. Harry endures so much trauma, it’s sad really. See how joining a new world and being famous affects him and interactions with professors and friends. Not a big cliffhanger but stays open for the story to continue.
