Listen I’m not opposed to age gap romances on principle, but when no one batted an eye at a 19-year-old saying they’d like to date the 15-year-old character after having only had two conversations with her I knew this book was not for me. Also the internalized fatphobia was very yikes.
Graphic: Body shaming and Fatphobia

I read this series back in high school and felt the urge to visit it again. While older than all the characters now, it doesn’t come off too young. Meade has quite a timelessness to her writing. Adrian was always my favorite in Vampire Academy and he stars brightly in this series. It’s also nice to see expansion of the other characters.
Graphic: Blood, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Alcoholism, and Death
Minor: Child abuse, Eating disorder, and Fatphobia
