John Allison's comics are definitely big comfort reads--low stakes, loveable characters, slice-of-life with hilarious facial expressions. Giant Days is still the best of them, but Steeple is also fun.

OMG!!! My library had Vol. 1 as an eBook!!! I'm so happy! This was hilarious and touching and just as great as Giant Days only with paranormal stuff. I will also now refer to wine as "Lady Petrol." I am looking forward to more of this series for sure!

It was a mistake to read this right after finishing Giant Days.

This was so sweet and well written. I honestly am so glad there's a sequel because if this was all their was I would have been so upset. This is a great blend of supernatural with the humorous style I am used to from Allison. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking a new graphic novel.

Trigger warnings:
Spoilerblood and gore depiction, religious rituals, religious bigotry, death, animal sacrifice

With the vibe of early Giant Days, Steeple explores the interaction and contrast of two starkly different religions. Told in a world of morally grey, two women live on either side of the war between good and evil. But they still manage to build a relationship.

I'm really curious to see where the next volume heads...
