This was actually even a more enjoyable read than the first volume but is again or maybe more insubstantial. I finished it minutes ago and have almost entirely forgotten it.

Volume two continued to be better than expected. And the back-story explanation of Arcade and the world and to some degree his motivation made a lot more sense than I would have expected. Sure it is still just a [b:The Hunger Games|2767052|The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)|Suzanne Collins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358275334s/2767052.jpg|2792775] knock-off, but at least it admits that. Or perhaps a [b:Battle Royale|57891|Battle Royale|Koushun Takami|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1331235272s/57891.jpg|2786327] knock off. Still it is the best Arcade Murder World I've seen. And the characters themselves are interesting and their interactions make sense. With good enough art.

Shocking no one, I have all the same complaints as I did with the last one. The one thing about this one is that at least Katy is certifiably insane so her motivations I understand. Why the rest of them are playing, I really don't get. It was not well set up and not well executed.
Also, Laura is a ridiculously difficult character to write. Hopeless is giving it a good try, but not quite making it. Still better than the dude currently writing Wolverines, and WAY better than Bendis, but not quite there.

All I have to say is that Nico freaking kicks ass! Awesome to see a woman with so much power. Reminds me a little of dark Willow, only less evil.
