I really am conflicted on what to rate this. All in all, I enjoyed the plot and I thought it was quite interesting and I was keen to continue reading.

Some characters I really did take to, such as Robin, Shiner, Dave & Joan. I didn’t like many other characters but that doesn’t mean their parts weren’t interesting or fun to read. I love when books have multiple perspectives, giving you a whole view of the plot as it goes.

However I do have a few issues.
- I don’t like how women were sexualised consistently throughout the whole novel. I disliked it with Jeremy especially since he was so young and it talks a lot about him wanting to rape girls, flexing sexual assault and just generally sexualising every girl he is in contact with. It doesn’t change, nor is it at all really relevant to the book. It wasn’t really just with him either, since there is a consistent theme of rape throughout the whole book.
-I also disliked how quickly characters fell in love. And I don’t just mean over a handful of months, I mean literally a couple of days and they’re already declaring their love for one another. Very unrealistic and just kind of made me roll my eyes.
-I really actually hated that the book appeared to follow realistic laws of reality, only to throw in something extremely fantastical at the end. It threw me off and ruined the tension throughout the whole Funhouse scene.

That being said, it was nothing like what I anticipated it being, but I did still enjoy it and would find myself not being able to put it down when I picked it up! But there are certainly some issues that I can imagine a lot of people wouldn’t be able to tolerate at all.
