Had to to read this book for university but I actually really enjoyed it! I agree with the general opinion that it is a bit of a weird novel but that made it all the more fascinating. There were a few lines that were absolutely stunning, the way Fitzgerald strings together a sentence is wonderful.
The way that Gatsby has all the material possessions one can possibly dream of and yet still has an unreachable dream is just…ouch

While this still is not the best book I have ever read, after re-reading it is not as bad as I previously found it to be. I matured, and with that I could read the characters behind the characters better. They still were unlikeable though, and racist, and antisemitic. I could appreciate the writing more, but I still don't like the book.
