I am in love with this book. I definitely, 100% prefered Lola and the Boy Next Door to Anna and the French Kiss. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Anna and the French Kiss, especially as it was set in Paris - the most beautiful city in the world. However, I found Lola and the Boy Next Door (LatBND) to be so much more intriguing. I felt that Lola's character was very interesting and different to any other that I've seen written.
Cricket, I love so much. He is more the man for me. Tall, blue eyed, dark hair - and not too lanky, he has some strong build. He is also able to joke and he loves his family and sister, which made me love him more. Although the storyline was predictable that they were going to get together, I still adored it. I adored it because Stephanie Perkins described their love amazingly and she just has a knack for writing young adult contemporary, and I it's beautiful.

5/5

PS I loved that Lola's parents were gay, it's something I've never really experienced in a book before and it was just a different aspect, and a great one at that.

There's no character as irritating as LOLA. Everything she does in the book makes me cringe. Definitely disappointed reading this one, because I absolutely loved the first book.

I found Lola as a character to be annoying in the beginning, but I still very much enjoyed the book.

Cute, mostly.

3.5 stars. This one took a bit for me to get into. Her relationship with Max was frustrating. Cricket is amazing. The Anna/St Clair cameos were fun. Her dads were super adorbs. Overall, it was cute.

3.5 stars. I love love love the characters (and the Best Outfits Award goes to Lola Nolan!), but I'm not that crazy about the plot.
