A quick little horror story. I had a good time reading it. Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad about it either. A solid little story!

Kealan Patrick Burke has once again blown me away and made me feel inadequate as a writer. Every sentence is so thoughtfully and eloquently well written that it just sucks you in and won’t let go.
The story is about a man going about some ordinary shopping where an encounter with a strange woman and boy forever changes his life for the worst.
I felt only terror and sympathy for poor Phil. He suffered greatly throughout the story and ending was… well, shall we say, not a happy one.
I would love to see a short film made of this someday.
I highly recommend this for those who love short horror fiction.
This is one of my favorite reads of the year so far!

SpoilerThere were some interesting elements and ideas in this book, like a child taking a man hostage and the supernatural beings with their own circle of life. I think the author could have taken it to another level by adding detail and suspense. It didn't hit the mark for me, and wasn't strong enough in the horror genre.
