Beautifully written contemporary YA novel with magical realism (although not as much as I would've liked) and romance. Explores the issues of gender identity, dyslexia, racism, bullying, and ADHD.
Moderate: Bullying, Homophobia, and Racism

For sure not the story I was expecting!
My favorite aspects of this book was the representation, and the deep discussions that were super informative as a reader, can’t say I’ve ever read characters like our two main protagonists.
This book is super dialogue heavy, so I sometimes forgot what the actual plot was, and the magical realism maybe could have been fleshed out a bit more, more been a bit more descriptive .
But overall, such a well crafted story that many people will be able to see themselves in!
