I’ve read 3 books in this series and this one feels like the first for me.
Friends to enemies to lovers. Yes, it gets darker and some things can’t be undone but overall it’s a good dark story, well written, fast-paced and interesting characters. Strong feelings as heartbreak and revenge can put hate to no limits in regards to consequences but it can also change in a twist of an unexpected moment. When she agrees to anything he wants to take from her, everything changes and hate and love are separated by a very thin line, even a blurred one.
Now I’m curious what the next book will bring.

Minor spoilers

Story: if you enjoy bully and/or dark romance, you’ll probably enjoy this book! I do enjoy these types of books- usually. I enjoyed the overall plot and the characters. At first I wasn’t sure I’d like Parker but by the end I did end up liking him.

I don’t typically enjoy books that push the boundaries too hard on consent. This book was almost hitting my limit in this regard but it wasn’t as bad as other books I have read and I was okay to finish it. At first I thought it would push my limits too far but it ended up not going as far as I thought it would.
When you read dark romance, there is an expectation of it being rather risqué. Just know your personal limits and leave if it’s too much for you <3

I wish we would have gotten to know Willow’s sister a little more. I think some aspects of the story would have hit harder if we had a few scenes of them together.

Audio Performance: at first I wasn’t a big fan of either of these narrators. The female grew on me throughout the story (except in ch 11 when it sounds like she kept pulling away from the mic). The male voice on the other hand was not the best. He sounded like he was trying to hard to sound sexy.

There is something really wrong with J. L. Beck.
Her genre is supposed to be contemporary romance but she only writes books where the heroine is sexually assaulted by the hero in the beginning. She purposely romanticize the sexual assaults and make us believe the heroine is not, in fact, raped because she likes it. THE HEROINE DOESN'T WANT TO BE ASSAULT THEREFORE SHE IS RAPED.
Dear author, you are disgusting and should be remove from all the book selling platforms.

Bully romance, enemies to lovers and all the drama needed for a page turner book. It's dark and addicting. I'm usually not a big fan of bully romances because of the usual same storyline and the predictable moments but this story is not the case and it was the exception. This story follows Parker who is looking for revenge because he thinks his brother was wrongfully accused for a crime he didn't commit. Parker is dark, an alpha, possessive and someone who can get what he wants. Willow is just trying to get by, she is not really close with her father and now Parker has his glare on her. I never wanted to put this book down, it was so addicting and I just wanted to know what would happen next and why it would happen. Especially when the ending came, and I couldn't see it really coming!

A book you’ll hate to love!

This is a classic bully romance, although there were times when I was a bit uncomfortable reading some scenes, I never thought Parker would actually hurt Willow or take anything she wasn’t willing to give.

Ultimately I did enjoy Hating You, although I saw one twist coming but the other came out of nowhere!

I did think Parker and Willow went from hating each other to not fairly quickly and with no real explanation but their chemistry was off the charts when they were together.

The first half of the book did make me wonder if I was meant to have read a prequel or something because a lot was written as if the reader should already know certain things but I just drew my own conclusions and they turned out to be right, but it wasn’t written in a way that made me think that was what the authors wanted you to do if that makes sense.

However this was a good enemies to more bully romance with a twist and I will be reading book 2!

This was my first “dark” bully romance and I’m just not sure how I feel. The first quarter I was hesitant about what I was reading but then I devoured the last 75% and really enjoyed it. Parker by the end was totally swoon worthy I love an alpha male but he was a bit to aggressive for me in the beginning but I guess that’s what makes it dark. I truly love this author duo their books are off the chart steamy but still have a great story line to keep you engaged. Looking forward to reviewing more by the them.

Thanks to JL Beck for an arc to review and give my honest opinion
