I am surprised I even picked up this book, as the back cover of the hardback says:
“All I’ve ever wanted is NOT to be a princess. And then I end up getting roomed with a girl who’s obsessed with them”.
This honestly is not an accurate representation of the story. For one, Lottie is not obsessed with princesses, however she does have a mild interest which resinates with a tiara her late mother gives her as a child. That’s about the extent of this so called “obsession”. So don’t let this mini synopsis taint your view on the content of the book.
Whilst the story was cliche filled yet still enjoyable, the author definitely has some favourite words which I found myself getting fed up with. An example is “antithesis” which is used so often it is a nice surprise to get through one of the short chapters without seeing it.
Although the writing style is not perfect and the story is packed to burst with cliches, it is a well planned, darker version of classics, such as the Princess Diaries, with a Jacqueline Wilson feel.
Thoroughly enjoyable as a quick and easy read.

I've read and reviewed this book so many times, so I'll just say to returning to Rosewood feels like coming home.

YES! I AM IN LOVE! This was magnificent, I am so happy my secret santa got this for me (school ended, so we had to exchange gifts before.) This is now one of my favourites of all time! Christmas came early y'all. AH I need book 2 and I hope it comes soon! There is no information about it yet. However, I just read that it's written by a youtuber, so now I will proceed to stalk her social medias for news.
