Love love loved this book! Couldn’t put it down, just love Sondergrens writing. However, I just can’t bring myself to forgive some of the plot holes, otherwise would have been a 5 star

Woo hoo this was a bloody fun ride. 

For what this book lacks in character depth and substance, it makes up for with body horror and absolute bloodbath moments. 

I predicted the twist fairly early on, but that did not stop me from giggling all the way through what was one of the most well deserved acts of revenge and justice I've read in a while.

Body horror and gore doesn't tend to bother me - however, if, uh, genital mutilation is a soft spot for you, I'd go ahead and skip this one.

We love Maggie in this house. Get yours, girl.

This was a quick read about a witch wanting revenge for being falsely accused of being a witch. The violence at the beginning of the story caught me by surprise but gives an idea of what to expect.

The build up is very slow for a few chapters but once Maggie enters, shit hits the fan! A literal blood bath and everything goes from bad to worse to even more worse! You'll be wishing some characters survive only to be caught offguard by them in the end! 

In the end you have no idea who to root for or if anyone woukd even survive.

The gore and deaths were a fun addition to all of this and the description of Maggie was chilling.

This is basically an 80s ghost slasher film condensed in 250 pages. The characters were serviceable, since the real stars here are the gore scenes and the monster, both were good!

Well this was an absolute hoot and a half to read. Very atmospheric, spooky, funny at times, heartbreaking. The absolute perfect read to start out spooky season (or any season, really). I really loved the writing, the story building, the gore. No notes, all praise.

The first 100 pages are slow, but from there in out it’s an absolute thrill ride reminiscent of old school grindhouse horror. Loved how it ended too!
