Ho, ho, freaking woah! Julie Olivia swoops in like a frisky winter breeze with this delightful holiday romance that brings a delightful twist to the hallmark Christmas stories loved by many. Besides, who says you can’t be both naughty and nice? ;)

This was my first year indulging in all the Christmas stories, and it did not disappoint. I was originally drawn to this story because of the cover and unexpected title amongst the storm of Christmas romances, but it was the unique concept, banter, and A+ Christmas puns that kept me flicking through those pages. Did I find the Santa fetish a little weird, and elements of the plot a little predictable? Yes. Was it enough to deter from the story at hand? Not in the least. Olivia has created the perfect balance between quirky, cheesy, and intimate with this holiday novella, and presents an enjoyable holiday read for the season. (3.5 stars)

The Fake Santa Apology Tour was a quirky fun read !

Birdie Mae loved Christmas as a child until one Christmas is ruined, and she blames one boy named Nic for it.

Now 20 years later she no longer loves Christmas and only dates men dressed as Santa. She heads to a small town to get inspo for her next Santa book and she runs into a hottie at the bar … her very own Saint Nic… or shall we say the Nic from her childhood

This was such a fun surprise. I didn't think it would be bad by any means, but I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did reading it.

Birdie Mae is the wide eyed Christmas magic believer at 11 years old, when she meets Nicholas Ryan. Nic isn't a fan of Christmas but the wide eyes of Birdie Mae makes him want to make it happen for her. However after that night Christmas will never be the same.

Birdie Mae is taking her annual trip to write her new book, using the small town for inspiration. What she wasn't expecting was to meet the man she met over a decade ago. Nicholas is older, but his silver hair and full beard makes all of Birdie Mae's Santa dreams come true.

Nicholas doesn't know what changed Birdie Mae's mind about Christmas but he takes her on a tour of fake Santa's to try and change her mind.

Their history led to differing views on Christmas, but both were equally heartbreaking but it was so lovely how they came together to make Christmas magical for both of them.

short and sweet

Every year she goes on a writer retreat around Christmas to a help with her books. Her sexy Santa books. She also exclusively dates Santa’s generally for a short time but her longest relationship recently ended and pushed back her retreat to the point where she may not be home for Christmas. She also hates Christmas and blames it on a curse after a boy told her she would hate Christmas when she was a kid.
This year she goes to a small town and meets the local bartender who also hates Christmas and looks like Santa. You can probably guess what might happen but that the story is better read than guessed.

A Santa erotica author with a long history of dating fake Santas (mall Santas, parade Santas, stripper Santas, etc.) and the silver fox working behind the bar in the Christmas town she visits for research.

This was so unexpectedly heartwarming and funny- the chemistry between our holiday lovers is palpable. Such good banter and humor between them.

Also as laughably strange as some of the conflicts are, they still managed to move me emotionally.

“Am I just another Santa to you?” is a question that shouldn’t have been as strong of a punch to the gut as it was. I was very concerned.

This was kind of everything.

CW: explicit sexual content, reference to dead parent, grief

This was a cute and quirky romance! An interesting take on a holiday romance with a fated mates trope.

I feel like this book had a lot of potential, but I found myself skimming the last 30-40% just to get through it. There were just so many plot points that weren’t fleshed out enough. For example, I don’t think we actually even found out if Birdie Mae finished writing her book…

It’s for sure a quick read with just the right amount of spice for a Christmas romance.
