This was a short novella that picks up right where The Iron King ends. Overall it is a brief and somewhat nice glimpse of the growing affection between Ash and Meghan. If you are reading the series, it is a nice addition. I read it hoping to understand why Meghan is so infatuated with this boy. The entire fifty or so pages tho she is jumping, screaming, or putting her hands on Ash, and not in a fun, my heart flutters way. It was annoying, and I really wanted her to grow some back bone and a mind of her own. Sadly this only continues in the next one.

This 59 page novella was great for someone like me who has to wait a while for the library to obtain me a copy of the book. I can't read straight through a series unless I buy it, and with all of the 'in between' books sometimes you just need a little 59 pager to get you back into the swing of things. It brings you back to book one, has a little mini adventure and leads into book two all in 59 pages. Brilliant!

I was contemplating skipping these ".5" e-reads but I definitely think ( as a fan of the series so far) it's worth it to read them. I tell you for sure after I read the official book 2!

Again, Meghan is an idiot. It's a good thing this is just a novella; I was spared from more instances of her stupidity. I was miffed when Ash implied that humans are overly sensitive and cannot control their emotions and when Meghan replied to that. Ash needs to interact with more humans, I guess.
The twist is not much of a twist, come to think of it. I'm just wondering how that character got in this book.

I’m cold just reading this.
I want to trust Ash.

It was alright but I expected much more for those small series in between the books.

This is a fun little tid-bit to read before jumping into [b:The Iron Daughter|7747064|The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey, #2)|Julie Kagawa|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1271790654s/7747064.jpg|7030241]. This very fast-paced story takes place during Ash and Meghan's trip to Tir Na Nog. A Nice action-packed shorty that gives us some hints for what is to come. There was a lot going on here for a mere 50 pages! I must be patient and wait for my turn to check out the next in the series at my library >:(

I think it was a nice little adventure that takes place between after book one and before book two.

But it probably is not necessary to read this one, as nothing happens that would be important to the story itself.

It is about the journey from Meghan's home in Louisiana to Tir Na Nog and what happens at that journey.
