This was a cute little mystery involving meddling teens and animals. I hadn't read any other books in the series, but the author does a good job of filling in when a previous plot is referenced, making this a good series that kids could pick up any one and enjoy. It reminded me of a Disney cartoon. Young fans of mysteries, animals, and light action/humor will enjoy this one and probably all the others in this series.

In my opinion Stuart Gibbs is an extravagent author and has a great prespective of what kids like to read. I am now on the Lion-down the fifth book in the funjungle series and I cant wait to read it.

Book 4 in the Fun Jungle Series. Teddy is off to solve two mysteries this time. Where is the missing panda and who is teaching the dolphins naughty tricks. Good character development for Teddy and Marge.

I have been hoarding books by Stuart Gibbs and finally got to this book.

Wow ... this was a fast pacing read, with little bit of action. The flow of the book was very good and kept me gripping till the end.

Teddy once again (atleast according to the series) helps with solving a FunJungle related crime.

Teddy and Summer go for their dolphin adventure as usual during non park hours. They witness the dolphins to have learnt a rather naughty act. One of the dolphins pantsy Teddy providing an episode of fun. At the end of the book, they realize that this was due to some random unintended act by one of their friends Xavior. And the dolphin trainers had to revert this behavior once they learnt the source of it since they were bound to get into much trouble :). This clearly illustrates that the dolphins are intelligent animals and are smart enough to learn form their surrounding :)

The crime of focus is the kidnapping of the endangered Panda Li Ping. The whole process of investigation of how Teddy comes about solving the puzzle by putting together all the pieces was very enjoyable to read.

This books talks about a lot of important concepts that kids these days should focus upon like animal trafficking, illegal acquisition of animals etc. Overall a very informative read.

While I realize this book is written for kids around 13 years old, I'm still amazed at some of the content included.

A female character exists solely as comic relief, as the narrator takes every chance to fat-shame and belittle the personal appearance of this character. She also happens to be a villain of sorts.

The main character (a 13 year old boy) loses his bathing suit while swimming.

To create a diversion for an already ill-advised plan, one of the characters fires a gun in a zoo while it's open. (page 127)

When I got to the diversion scene, I stopped reading. This book was written in 2017 - plenty recently for the idea of firing weapons in a kids book to be universally acknowledged as unthinkable. Most of the children reading this book have participated in active-shooter drills at their schools. I expect better from a "New York Times Bestselling Author."

Stuart Gibbs is amazing! He consistently delivers great stories in each of his series. Fans of Funjungle will love reading Teddy's newest adventure and learning fun panda facts along the way. Also, it was nice to get some backstory and character development for Marge.

In this fourth FunJungle mystery, the zoo is expecting delivery of a Giant Panda that they have been allowed to host. Unfortunately, when the truck arrives, neither Li Ping nor Doc are inside. This is not just a problem for FunJungle, it has the potential to turn into an international incident since all Giant Pandas are considered the property of the Chinese government. Not trusting the FunJungle security team (since they have done such a great job in the past), the FBI is called in and Teddy is asked to stay away from the investigation. But the head of the FBI team is none other than Marge O'Malley's sister. The sisters are polar opposites. Marge blackmails Teddy into investigating, hoping to put her sister in her place. Alternating between hilarious escapades and imminent danger, fans of the FunJungle series will be glued to the unfolding mystery. I suggest reading the books in order for the greatest appreciation. Recommended for grades 3 and up.
