This was beautifully illustrated and I love how there was a science experiment you could try in the back.

This book is all about ducks. It discusses what they eat, where they live, and how they migrate. There are many different types of ducks shown in the illustrations. But they main thing that this book is about is how ducks keep from getting wet. They have an oil gland near their tail, and they spread this oil on their feathers when they preen.

This book was good for a book that is all about ducks. While it did mention lots of types of ducks and some about their habitats and characteristics, there were a few things not mentioned such as egg laying, mating, and raising young. So, I think that this book is pretty one dimensional.

It could be used to discuss specific characteristics of birds. It would be a stretch, but it could be used to talk about density and oil and water not mixing.
