Quite liked this! Lady Mechanika is a force to be reckoned with, easy on the eye and has her heart in the right place.
The demon 'thing' made me want to cry though... unreal how quickly I became attached to him... *sigh*

Reread July 2020 to prepare for #3 in August
Still love that short story. I can't wait to finally finish that serie!
(one complain, tho, do we really need all those close-up on her full breast?)

In this short issue, we get to meet the famous Lady Mechanika and a little special creature who ends up recognizing her, Lady Mechanika is on the verge of knowing who she really is, when a stupid colonel shows up.

Illustrations, colors, actions, [a:Joe Benítez|54938|Joe Benítez|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1486040773p2/54938.jpg] is spoiling us.

I had written down the name while browsing in a comics shop, but never picked up the first issue. I downloaded this issue [b:Lady Mechanika #0|9864447|Lady Mechanika #0 (The Demon of Satan's Alley)|Joe Benítez|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1316764411s/9864447.jpg|14755883] for free through Comixology and I'm glad I did! I'm very intrigued to read more in this series after reading this -short, but good- issue.

Free on ComiXology.

Meh. Not a big fan of the character design. Story seems cool though (not very original but still), if I see it in library or something like that I might try to read more of it.

MINI-REVIEW

This is the first Lady Mechanika book I'm reading and I definitely wasn't disappointed! As a matter of fact this is my first ever graphic novel and I'm just so freaking glad i picked it up! The artwork is just gorgeous and the main character, our Lady Mechanika is a badass. While this is more a graphic novella than a full length novel, it's enough to pique the interest of readers leaving us with so many questions about the Lady's origin. If like me you haven't read graphic novels before, this would totally be a great one to start with!

Meh. The story in this one was vaguely intriguing, but I was pretty distracted by the Barbie-shaped heroine as she boobed boobily across the pages. Really over these male gaze, grossly disproportioned women in comics. Add in the wardrobe that makes them titties pop out even more and would more than likely actually be really uncomfortable and not at all functional and it’s just bleh. But . . . it’s a comic! It’s fantasy! Lady Mechankia isn’t supposed to be human! That’s weak as hell and some sorry excuses. This just ends up feeding into the idea that comics are for men (or lonely bois in basements) and the only way you can have a BAMF lady is if she’s pretty. How very Whedon. The art is nice, and story is interesting, but I don’t want to read about some buxom bitch in ludicrous clothing solving crime, even if it is a fantasy.
