I was reading something else on my Kindle while visiting family, and my mom joked around that I should read outloud to share -- so I looked through my e-library and found this silly little book on there and spent a good chunk of this weekend playing storyteller whenever they asked me to read them another chapter. Proof that adults never grow out of the magic of storytime!

drastisch, mitunter eklig, vielleicht sogar ein bisschen schaurig. Dazu noch die Zeichnungen, die bewusst nicht "schön" sein müssen – all das hatte mich bisher erfolgreich von diesem Buch ferngehalten. Aber ich muss sagen: es war weniger schlimm, als ich befürchtet hatte. Vielleicht wage ich irgendwann, ein weiteres Buch von Roald Dahl zu lesen …

Rereading this book for my book club and OMG IT IS AMAZING, best children's book ever (I said what I said), yaaaaaaaaas kween to all the characters but especially the Grand High Witch, we stan an anti-patriarchy inclusive feminist hell goddess, long live Angelica Huston!!!!!!!!!!!
