Easily read in one day. Fast paced, no words wasted. So much intrigue - and creep factor of the killer's voice, so well done!

This is book 2 in Sam Holland’s major crime series, and I flew through this one just as I did the first, desperate to know what happens next and see what secrets are revealed.

This book follows the police’s investigation of a serial killer, whose murders start to unveil a familiarity from a closed case, with that killer behind bars the team need to work out how it’s possible for this to be happening, along with trying to keep those close to the case and its history safe.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns along the way of this book, I was constantly trying to solve the case and figure out who had done it and who was next the whole way through. There were a couple of reveals that I did see coming but there were more that took me by surprise, which I loved!

Sam has a great way of ruining me with the endings! At the end of both this book and book 1 my jaw was on the floor, just when you think all questions have been answered a whole new can of worms is opened, with a frustrating who new set of unanswered questions!

I thought I would struggle to read this as it was not the same characters from the first book, but if anything I actually loved these characters more and am now worried I will miss them going straight into book 3! I really hope that at some point in this series they will all be on the same team as I think they would all wore so well together, but I did appreciate the cameo from Cara in this book.

This book is dark and full of trigger warnings so please do check them before you go in, but if you are a fan of dark serial killer stories then you need to read this series!

Oh wow I loved this book. Nothing will ever quite match my love for dark, twisted and evil crime thrillers like Chris Carter books but THIS definitely comes close.

I loved the throwback to the previous book The Echo Man (not directly related as they are standalones). This is definitely an auto buy author for me now.

This book is dark. Some seriously messed up and gruesome scenes. Some that are hard to read. But the story and the background detail was brilliant and kept me wanting to read more.

I read this before bed every night (who doesn't love a good dark thriller bedtime story!) The twists I did not see coming even though I did my best to work them out.

And the end?

Námět na příběh rozhodně zajímavej! Thrillery miluju a Sam píše skvěle, čte se to samo, napětí v každé stránce, jen ten konec mi přišel už trošku přetažený za vlasy
