I’m so speechless, that was excellent I have nothing to add. I was so worried the hype was BS, now I know it was not. Hank Green, you’re a genius. It’s like this book was MADE for me, helloooo queer people, political tension, a loveable but formidable being who is also perhaps a friend or maybe a foe? UGH LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I listened to this entire book in less than three days because it just kept me so engaged the entire time. I honestly want to go back through and read it again, but maybe a physical copy with highlighters and a notebook to write down my thoughts as I read because I think the themes are very relevant right now, and it was also just a really good read. Like I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately, but I couldn’t put this down.

Perfect audiobook, I loved the examination of instant fame and social media. Can’t wait to continue!

I would give the book a much higher rating, but Hank Green managed to write one of the worst protagonists I've ever come across. Fuck, April May is just awful. I was rooting for her death from beginning to end of this damn book. She's just a pure scumbag to everyone around her. Annoying. Selfish, narcissist who was still worrying about views in the midst of dying!! Her character alone brought the entire book down. Had it been written from the perspective of literally any other character the book would have garnered a much higher rating. But as it is...

April, was such a dislikeable character. I know this was the intention, but it was difficult to read at times. I liked the concept and how it felt somewhat realistic into reactions and such. I really wasn't sure of the book until I got to the conclusion which was in the perspective of Andy Skampt and honestly he tied it up so nicely I really liked this book. I liked that Hank Green literally told you the moral of the story. And April was admittedly a very flawed character, but she did strive for the greater goal. I like the concept of humanity working together even when it was divided in a very relevant example aside from the characters.

A funny yet gripping story by Hank Green (a family of fantastic & moving writers). The story carried inertia: I found myself unable to put it down the further I got into it.

It did a lot of future hinting but taking you down paths that you didn't expect the story to go.

My interpretation of this story contains an overarching theme as well as one that stood out to me. I feel like this story is a critique of fame/power and the grasp that it oft has on us. A quieter tone is, I feel this story may have some to do about climate change, specifically a problem that we all must work on to solve together. These are more speculation that I had toward the end of the book

Even the Acknowledgements made me feel something.

I'm excited to pick up the sequel.

I originally was going to give a 3.5 but bumped it up for a CRJ reference.
A little slow to get into but quickly became an engaging read that I had to see through to the end. I will definitely read A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor next!
