This may be my favorite Ruth Galloway yet! The mystery drew me in, and I love Ruth and the Serious Crimes Unit. Looking forward to the next.

I've been a big fan of this series, but it seems to be becoming very formulaic which is a personal pet peeve. YMMV.
Bones are discovered! Are they old or are they recent? A potential love interest materializes for Ruth! But it doesn't work out and something happens that reinforces that Nelson is only the man for her! But then something happens in Nelson's life that keeps him and Ruth from getting together! Phil, Shona, and Cathbad make brief cameos so we know they still exist!
The prose is still well written, and I do like the characters, but the story lines? Not so much.

One of my favorite series. I like all of the characters. It is interesting to follow the relationship between Ruth and Nelson. It is complicated with no easy answers. I'm already looking forward to the next one in the series.

Another cozy mystery by Elly Griffith's. I enjoy her writing style but definitely feel like it's beneficial to read in order, even though she recaps main character points. Feel like there are unnecessary comments regarding weight/appearance but generally speaking enjoy her stories.

Great book for a plane ride. This one left me a bit ho-hum. Lots of plot lines for the next book I guess.

Starting with the ninth book means that there's lots of backstory about the characters that I'm missing, so I'm about to start the first one now. Interesting setting and characters, though the murderer was a minor character whose motivation wasn't convincing. Oh, well, if I read mysteries for the solutions I would have stopped reading them long ago!
