Pretty solid read - good for all those in-between moments sitting on the train, waiting for others, etc. The main character is strong - albeit haunted and broken - and the author moves the story along at a good pace. I feel like some threads were left hanging at the end (though I suppose that makes sense considering that this book is part of a series). I'm not sure if I'll read the next book in the series, but the time I spent reading this book was certainly a lot more enjoyable than if I had used it aimlessly scrolling through social media.

This was exactly the kind of book I look for when I want to read mystery/thriller. The characters were amazing, particularly Sydney Rose. Their backgrounds were compelling, they were nuanced, and they felt like real people. The plot was well-executed and just devastating. This isn't the kind of book to read if you're looking for something light and fun, but it's easily one of the best mystery/thrillers I've read in ages. I can't wait to get my hands on more books staring Sydney Rose.

Kam mit dem Setting nicht zurecht. Nachdem ich dann das review von Katy gelesen habe, war klar, nichts für mich.

This was a difficult read for me. The PTSD flashbacks were jarring and disconcerting not to mention the hate of Neo Nazis. I read for entertainment and to escape our reality. This story did not provide that for me. At least, I finished the story. Yay me. I get that I’m not the target audience for this series and will not be continuing despite Ms Nickless’ talent for storytelling.

This book was so good. It was very well written, with great pacing. It didn't drag at all. The plot kept my attention and I wanted to be reading it anytime I wasn't. I'll be reading the second book soon, for sure.

Great Read
Wasn’t expecting to like this book. Sydney was a great character. The story was compelling and I didn’t even guess the killer. Not reading book 2 now, but may in the future.
